240 water leak?!

240 water leak?!
I recently purchased a '66 F-100 for a steal due to it having a bad water leak.
I havn't dug too deap *yet* but at first I though it was from the head gasket, but on further inspection found no water anywhere to be found except for the waterfall coming from between the bellhousing and flywheel cover. I am wondering if there is a freeze plug back there that may have come out? I'd be a shame if this block was cracked... it runs very strong despite the gusher.

There is a freeze plug at the back of the block, its right above the crank. You'll probably have to pull the motor to get to it. Go to this site:

there is a picture of the back of a 300, the upper hole is for the freeze plug. Your 240 will look the same. Hope this helps.
