I unfortunately don't know the history on my 86 enough to know for sure if it had a new one when they put the motor in, but 30000 miles after I got the truck, it has used it up either way. Suggestions for where to get one that can handle heavy hauling?
Yes, it's solid, has the 4 speed. It's the 86 in my sig. This will be the first hard job I've had to do in the 3 years I have had the truck, worst before has been the alternator... I always get the flywheel machined with a new clutch, I just need a new disc and pressure plate.
The older solid fly-wheel 12" style, is still the best deal all around. We even replace later models with that set-up. Buff and anti-sease the in-put shaft, and don't forget to replace the main seal.
i had a centerforce dual friction in my 88 for 80k miles before i put the auto trans in it. never had a problem with it, and it looked like new when pulled. as a matter of fact, the guy that bought the ZF bought the clutch also, and has put another 100k on it so far.
Yep, rear main is getting changed, it is leaking already even though the motor is supposed to only have 5000 miles more than I have on it. They do make a sleeve
kit for these don't they?
So what kind of money would I be looking at with a Centerforce?
