I have this in the other forum, but i think i should of put it in here...I have a 1968 f100 360cid, 2 bbl. I want to get new headers, mine are all rusty and i think there cracked. I dont want to spend that much on them but i want some HP increase and a better exhuast sound out of them. Probably just like 200$ or less i guess, thanks... and if u could tell me a good place to get em..
The best(to my ear) exhaust note always comes from cast iron.
The nicest note I've had from an FE was using FT "rams horns" with the centre ports weld over (to fit FE heads) and mounted upside down. They have a big (2.5?) outlet and 3 stud clamp.
If you want some dirt cheap headers that perform well I would recommend the flowtech brand. They have 1 3/4" tubes and a 3" collector. They seem to be constructed pretty well and sound great. I used them with my 72 truck heads and my edelbrock heads. They mounted up perfectly to both. I have also had no leaking problems. You can get them from autozone for about 100 bucks. If you want a slightly better header I hear the hedmans are pretty decent. They are about $135 from summit.

No when mount upside down the outlet face horizontal so the pipe work is pretty simple
