Well, I finally got it all wired up today. As everyone before has said, once you find the correct wire it really is quite simple. And thats coming from someone who is really ignorant when it comes to electrical work.
As for the results...well, I can't tell much difference. The only way I could even tell that I had done anything at all is by 1) the OVERDRIVE Off light flickering, and 2) I accidentally lugged it once in 3rd gear. I know thats not good for the TC, but it was accidental. Anyhow, I think the reason I havent seen any drastic change is because I am being very conservative with the switch. I have read some people turn it on as soon as they are in 2nd gear. I have heard over 25 mph. I was more-or-less waiting for overdrive and up to speed before I locked it up. Im sure that as I get more comfortable with the switch I will notice a bigger difference. If anyone wants to chime in with what they think is the best way to take advantage of this new mod I'm all ears...or I guess I should say eyes. Thanks for all the help getting the switch installed.
the place you will really see it is when yout towing or going up a hill. and when you about in the 25-45 mph range. start driving and get to 25mph and kick in on you will feel it kick in and watch the rpm's drop. just don't let them get below 2500. its a good mod and helps the tranny. hope you like it
yeah sorry i wanted to say 1200 but i just got typer wrong. i just don't know why i was thinking 2500,but yeah its 1200-1500, sorry again for the mis-info
no problem, thanks for the info. I know that the most useful time for this mod is when towing. I don't tow often, but it was something I wanted to do anyways. Im really hoping to see a difference when I make my drive home this weekend. I take a 7 hour one way trip home every other weekend. The main thing I was hoping is that the truck would not downshift so often going up hills, or when I need a little extra go pedal. Or at least, that when it does downshift the rpms dont go through the roof while Im waiting for the power to get to the wheels.
