Aight guys I have a 2000 F-150 ext cab stepside 4x4. I put a 6" Fabtech susp lift and 315 Mickey Thompson MTZ's. When I hit between 40 and 50 mph you can feel the whole truck hoppin, bouncin, etc. It does it whether im givin it gas or coastin. Any slower or faster then that it doesn't do it. I can't seem to fig out what is causin it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Rotate the tires if it seems to just be the rear end bouncing move those tires to the front and see what happens. What pressure are you running in those tires? If you leave it parked for awhile and then drive the tires are probably D shaped from sitting in one spot for so long, moving it every now and then will help if that's the case!!
Blue beast I drive the truck everyday so it doesn't sit up. I'm runnin 35 psi in the tires. pursugr where's the best place to get the traction bars from? i looked at em when i was buyin the lift but haven't priced em or anything lately. are they easy to install? thanks.
try 4wheelparts.com, i think i got mine there. price is around 600 to 650 with the installation kit. fairly easy to put on if you installed your fabtech lift. good luck
Try 30 psi in them tires then work up from there. What shocks are you running the valving might not be what you need. If they are self adjusting the valve could just be oscillating and when you hit a series of bumps it is like it has no damping. http://www.eshocks.com/bil_ORvh.asp?...=All&SubChar=Q
If you can afford them, You can rebuild and revalve for the conditons, running different oil weights will change how the shock behaves. They could be the last set of shocks you buy since you can rebuild them, If you get a different truck just change the mounts.
thanks blue beast. I installed a 6" susp lift from fabtech on my 2000 f-150.I'm runnin the shocks that come with it. the tires had 30 psi in them a few weeks ago. I bumped them up to 35 psi and the truck drives better but still has the hop in the same speed range.
