2005 Ford Expy Stereo MODS

Hey Guys,

I've got a 2005 Expy with the upgraded sound system--whatever Ford calls it.

Here's what I'm curious about--how hard is it to remove the factory sub?

The equipment list I want to put in is below.

Alpine Head Unit---may upgrade.

2 amps:

1. Rockford Fosgate 30x6, bridgeable into 80x4
2. Rockford Fosgate Punch 250a--bridgeable into 250x1 for the sub
3. Rockford Fosgate 5x8's for the doors
4. 10" Image Dynamics sub (very musical, but will still hit when I want it to)

The stuff is a couple of years old, (2-3) but it is in excellent condition. I had this in my 2003 Expy and I could hit 123DB, measured

I don't really want anything showing, but that might be tough to do. I"m fairly decent as an installer, so ideas would be great, pics would be better

Oh yeah, sound quality is more important now than quantity.

hide amps under rear seat, build a cusom enclosure where the stock sub was located. drill holes with grommets to install the wires under the cab.

Matt,

Thanks for the ideas. I've already thought about the under seat idea for the amps, but I checked clearance and the seats won't fold flat if I put them there which won't work for me as I use the truck to haul stuff and my Lab & Pointer.

Any idea how difficult it is to remove the factory sub? My concern is that Ford did something stupid like make the sub enclosure an integral part of the frame or something. Wouldn't be the first time.
