Steering Play

The truck (85 F150 I6) tends to float a great amount, so i have my brother sit in the truck and wiglee the steering wheel, the play seemed to be in the ball joint where the tie rod connects to the pitman arm. What parts do I need and can I get them at napa? I assume I need to replace the ball joint, which probably means I need a special puller. It has a new steering box and power steering pump.

If you can afford it just replace all of them, Make sure the new ones have zerk fittings and keep them greased up. You will need a pickle fork and sledge to remove them!!
Gwt a piece of cardboard and mark the length of each one from the center of the end to center of the other end. You want to keep the lengths as close as possible then take it and get a alignment!!

That was a "my bad" I did a search and found everything I need to know, but now I can't decide which ball joints to buy, since the moog are considered to stiff and the OEM don't last, I was considering the summit racing ball joints, good idea, bad idea? Should I replace the U-joints at the same time (they dont seem to be bad)?

what ever you use keep them lubed from day one, should last long time, have 400,000 miles on mine from factory, still working great, maybe go with ford parts (factory),?
