02' stock 7.3 power problem
I have a 02' 7.3 that has started to present power problems but as of yet no check engine light. The issue seems to happen when the truck is at temperature when gradually the power dwindles to bare minimum just to make it move. If I pull over for a few minutes it seems to right itself for a few minutes and then starts all over again. Also when struggling, there seems to be a sort of relay clicking/air leaking sound coming from drivers side firewall area. Idle is fine but in neutral as the rpms increase the lobing increases, (1000rpm=no so bad - 2000rpm=noticable).
Fuel filter was suspected but was spotless as was the fuel. Will this truck store codes that don't trigger the check engine light?

Sounds odd that you would have a problem this obvious without a check engine light. However, that being said, I have worked on PSD's that would set codes left and right but the check engine light wasn't working, so no indicators showed up on the dash. Scan for codes, you just might have something there.
