I disconnected this from under my dash b/c it would ding with the door open and no key in the ignition. But figured I should check here to make sure it wasn't something important. I have a 93 F250 4X4 auto w/ 460. Crap I can't post pics. Anyhow the male part is grey and female part is black, it's mounted under the dash and I believe it's a 5 or 6 pin. Any help is appreciated.
Some one removed unplugged that from my 92 before i started driving it and it worked just fine. I am pretty sure that it has so many wires because it is used for all sorts of circuits like headlights, ignition, and door ect.
Yeah that is the door chime module, they are NOTORIOUS for going haywire in these trucks. You can replace it with a new one (some have fun jingles and bells) or you can just remove it and throw it as far as you can, this is what most guys do
EDIT: Sometimes the problem is also not the door chime but something involved in the steering column/ignition cylinder. I know that on my truck if it chimes with the door open and head lights off, I can turn the ignition cylinder backwards (no key) until it stops, and the chime will turn off. This doesn't always work however, nor does the chime come on consistently.

When I got my truck it was disconnected and the cruise wouldn't work. I reconnected it and and the cruise started working. I guess it's Fords way of making sure you keep stuff connected. Funny thing is my wiring diagram doesn't show a connection through the buzzer for the cruise control.
