first post extremly intersting site lots of good info. I have a 08 F-350 King Ranch. I noticed my oil appears to get a dark colour. Just had it changed at 4000 miles and checked it again after 50 miles and it looks quite dark is this normal. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Diesel oil gets dark(black) pretty quick. Every one that I ever had has anyway. But if i paid 40-60 grand for a truck, i'd have them check it out anyway.

Diesel oil get black very easy and and stayes that way. I have changed oil on diesel engines before and it will turn your hand black too after touching it. Normal.
