Talking making a second "snorkel"

I have a few questions, and this is my first post. So how do you make a second snorkel for your intake. I have a 1993 ford d350 dually with a 7.3. My second question would be how can i make a cold-air intake. I tried to make one but after it sat for a little while and i strarted it it was like it couldnt get enough air in. When i put the stock intake in then it stopped. I'm sure it was in a bad area. I apreciate any inpute that is given.

Cheeperjeaper is the only one I know with a dual ram intake.

He gets his air from the parking lights ('80's body style).

Yup, I shore do. I installed a second snorkle from a stock air cleaner. If you check in my gallery there are detailed pictures of the whole setup.

Hey F250FarmBoy, you still got that tach sensor? I sent you a PM and then never heard back from you....

they aren't ram air by any means, but i used a wirewound 3" dump hose i got at the hardware store clamped onto two 3" pipe snouts welded to the aircleaner body. one right next to the stock inlet and the other on the passenger side. the hose is easy to route around tight areas and drops down to pick up air from the open area above the front end. total investment $12. easily doubled the air intake.

I went to the junk yard and got a second air cleaner housing, it think it was off a diesel. It was the same size anyway. I cut the snorkle part off the one fro mthe junkyard, marked it on the one off of my truck. Cut the hole and welded the whole thing up. I will be routing both sides to the front of the truck this week with some type of hose, not sure yet. I know I dont want to use dryer duct! I just did it yesterday and i noticed a differance with reguards to smoke and noise when accelerating. I use to have a light black smoke when i pinned the throttle now there is virtually no smoke at all. It is a bit louder but I like the sound

I am also fabbing up a 4 inch exhaust to go with my new intake.

I heard of the plastic dryer duct getting sucked in. I was actually thinking of using the the aluminium stuff its a bit more ridgid and I think since the volume the duct would see would now be 1/2 it should be ok. I have some kicking around I'll try. All of the junk yards I have been to here do not have any if that plastic duct in the right size.

I used the aluminum dryer ducting that I bought at Home Depot and it worked quite well. One word of caution. The stuff is THIN and if it rubs against ANYTHING it will wear holes in it....
