Blue66, some 428s have CJ heads which have a higher exhaust port location and their own bolt pattern. The 'ordinary' 428 usually had C8AE-H heads, which had the 8 bolt vertical pattern. DF

428 heads
C8AE-H heads came in two exhaust bolt patterns, vertical for full-size cars and “GT” style for the intermediates. Same casting, just drilled and tapped differently. The GT pattern is NOT the same as the CJ pattern.
