I couldn't tell ya when everything was checked because I rarely drive this truck. My bronco is down for various reasons right now, hence the reason I'm driving it. It has an antique tag, so technically I'm not supposed to be driving it every day.

I agree with the rad flush and add a new thermostat. On my 64 fairlane I added a 5 blade fan from an A/C comet and took the 4 blade off. Never overheated again. But later I added a shroud off a 65 Comet and that heped big time when idling or at slow cruises.

I realized as I came home and cleaned out my garage, that I happened to have one laying right there from the Bronc that I took to scrap. I took the fan off and put the shroud in then put the fan back in to see clearance. It worked almost perfectly. Used mostly existing holes in the shroud and in the truck. Secured with industrial size zipties. (Trust me they are strong as hell!) Can't wait to see what the highway brings tomorrow. Truck normally runs about 180. Any thoughts?
D3TZ-8146-C is the shroud to use.

While not listed in the Ford parts catalog for 1965/66's (actually 1968/76 FE's) it's an easy bolt on...(my 65 has one)...and is STILL available from Ford.

FTE sponsor DIRECTFORDPARTS (Gaudin Ford-Las Vegas) shows: List $109.63 / FTE member net $77.49.

Sponsors are listed on the FTE home page, refresh till it appears.

Any chance this shroud would fit a 64 with a 223?

I can't say for sure, because I have no personal experience with this year/engine. My 65 F100 underwent a complete resto in the early 1980's using all NOS parts. At the time I worked for the largest stocking Ford dealer on the West Coast (Crenshaw Motors), and when I wanted to add a shroud, I just went to the bins and tried every one we stocked till one worked. And it fits like it was made for the application.
