Stock Head Options

I'm rebuilding my 360 which has the D2TE-AA heads. I just picked up another 390 from a 1966 T-Bird mostly for the crank and rods. It came with two different heads C7AE-A and C6TE-G which were matched to the intake manifold S C7AE 9425 E. He said this manifold was the 390 GT.

I plan to still get the Performer RPM manifold because I've heard the S manifold is not that great. But, which heads should I plan to rebuild?

Stock Head Options

The C7 and the C6 should be the same head. They both will yield the same compression ratio and should have the same ports. They were used on engines from the 352 - 428. The D2 heads have a smaller combustion chamber so they will give you more compression and are a good head for porting. I don't know which flows better in stock form but either way its not that much difference.
