Just for your information.
I just replaced a broken front axel on my 2000 F250 Superduty. All I need now are the "big" outer seals!
I went to Napa auto parts and the local Ford dealer but they both said I have to buy the assembly. The guy who did my gears said the samething.
Anybody else have the same experaince?
I found the seals on line at riversidegear.com $32.95 each.
Fianlly got the hub seals that I orderd on line.
I orderd then fron Riversidegear.com.
Now to put it all back together. I got new gears installed a new carrier and Lock -Right, and had the front driveshaft extended for the eight inch lift.
Problem now is the driveshaft CV joint is now at the point of binding due to the increes in angle.
I am sure the 4x4 will work on flat ground with no problem but offroad?
Just to test it out I jacked up the truck from the frame. Now with the syspension at full extension I rotated the driveshaft by hand. The CV joint binds!
For about $500 I can get a custom driveshaft.
Anybody got a better idea?
