Down here I've never seen these heads.
The latest I seen in the "iron" has been c8ae
So how much are they up there,
I'd be interested in getting a pair or 2 down if they are cheap.
I can get about 4 pairs from 1 local junkyard I know of for $30 a pair. They are extremely common around here. Any truck from 72 - 76 has them. I don't think they are anymore special than the C8 heads. They give one of the smallest chambers but their stock flow isn't excellent. I went and spent $15 on one head just to cut on to find out where to port and how far.
I think 69 was the last year FORD brought FE's into Australia.
I have several blocks (very usable) and I have several pairs of heads but over 70% of them have more cracks than I interested in fixing. At the prices you are talking about I could get some out here at a reasonable price.
D2T are at least 5 years newer in design,
Are D2T the best to track down can anyone post a few pictures and some specs (port size air injection ? chamber size etc...).
I don't know wether you are looking to buy a rebuilt set or a bare casting to rebuild yourself but http://www.desertperformance.com sells completely rebuilt heads for 600 bucks a pair. My neighbor bought a set from the guy and they were really nice. I deals mostly with D2 castings from what he told me over the phone. Not sure if he will ship to australia though. Just a thought mate.
