For tranny mods all I've ever heard on this forum is BTS. Now I've come across someone named Greg Evans Factory Tech valve bodies. Is this the same as BTS ? Similar ? How about quality ?
Most of my driving involves pulling a 11K 5er over the Grapevine here in SoCal (that's a 6% grade going up and down over 4k feet.
I'm looking to add an exhaust brake, DP tuner, TC lock, and tranny mod to help things out. Am I on the right track with the upgrades? Do I really need the tranny mod ?
I know you guys like to spend other peoples money, so help me out.
well, i dont know anything about Factory Tech VB, i have BTS trans, if i were you i would put VB for sure, get a TC lockup switch, and as far as DP and Exhaust brake you on a perfect track,
any VB that would shift faster and a little harder would be a extra breth for you trans,
if youget BTS VB, Jody from DP can program a chip for it , so this is a plus,
i would get triple lock TC, that would make Huge diference,
and BIG mod you have to do if you tow a lot, GET a Trans cooler from 6.0 trucks, its about 3x the size of our stock ones,
All in all i think they are very similar to each other, however BTS does a few little things here and there you probably can't even notice, and he can accomodate with DPtuner to match the trans shifting perfectly.
I'd get the BTS one since it works best with DP-Tuner. Worked for me till I got my trans diode locked up and it toasted the trans. Since it was within a month I got credit for it when I upgraded although the VB was sitting in superhot fluid with debris swirling around it for over 100 miles.
