Need your input

O.k. guys, my name is Brad Childs and I'm the Diesel Performance Manager for TCI Automotive. We are starting to design and develop converters and transmissions for the 03-07 6.0L F-250 and F-350. We are looking into do a street and tow combination as well as a full race combination. What are you guys looking for as far as shift patterns, stall speeds, power ranges, etc.... I know these are some tough transmissions and converters but I have received several calls and e-mails on aftermarket products, so we have decided to start looking into improvements. I want to start by asking the guys who use these trucks day in and day out. I'd greatly appreciate all the info you guys can provide.

Thanks,

Brad Childs

I can do that, I have built several cummins converters that hold up to 900 HP and 1600 FTLBS. I will be testing a couple in the following months but want be able to test that much HP(need head studs) . Will you be at Houston in the 13th and 14th?

I'm not too far from Houston.. Although I don't have a block in the truck running that HP yet.. The transmission is what's holding us back, we're trying to find a combination that will hold up to 600+ without dying 15,000mi later..

When you reached the 500-600 hp range we would do a converter and transmission for you minus the cost of shipping and let you run it and give us feedback. Now you have to remember this is a new design and the tranny may have to be sent back a couple times to work out all the bugs. You guys are at the head of the 6.0L field and we can defintely benefit from your testing. By the way, picked up 2 tenths on my sixty (1.78) and nearly a second on my ET(8.20) using the AGG. Race tune, do you think I can get into the 7's with stock studs?
