I have just what you need! I have run both white and silver. I prefer the silver back. it pretty much looks white but the lighting on the gauges is nicer than the white. My current truck has the white with the solid blue area in the center and I don't really care for it. but here is the link to both sets. I will have to post up a pics of my current interior. everything is Blue lite (cluster, aftermarket gauges, radio, break controller, Now I just need the CB and HVAC controls) it looks sweet!
Ya that is exactly what im looking for. I think I have seen pics of your truck before but never could find out where you got the gauges. Why do you prefer the silver over the white? Is bc of the night look or what? And how hard where they to insall?
The only reason I like the silver over the white is because of the solid blue arch in the middle of the speedo and solid blue circle in the middle of the tach. they don't light true blue ( I would call it blue-green) and I just don't like the extra it adds. Both light very nice and are almost too bright until you get used to them.
Install isn't real easy. its a real trick to get the cluster out of the truck. it can be done with the cluster in the truck but the front plastic off but its not much easier. Pulling off the needles as another not fun part. they can go on anyway you want to unless you are very careful you can get the needles off and your gauges are even less accurate then when you started. I took pics of stock cluster with key on then compared them once i got things back together to make sure the needles were close. it worked well in the end but until you do some driving it not very easy to trust your gauges. What ever you do don't remove the stock overlay. if you do the warning lights will light clear and not colored which I find annoying and there will alot of light that comes out around the base of the needles that is annoying. The Previous owner took them off my current truck and it looks back. thankfully he saved them and gave them to me when I bought the truck.
Im guna order the silver then. I realy like the way it looks. About how long did it take to do this? What is the stock overlay? Have you noticed that your gauges are off and if so is there a way to get them back to perfect or you just do your best? And is are there any other tricks in doing this?
I think it took me a few hours when I did it. You will need some torx bit drivers/1/4 drive torx sockets to get the trim off and to get the cluster out. The stock overlay is just the stock face that you see now. its just an overlay just like what your putting on its just back lit. also don't remove the back light bulbs in the cluster as that is what still light the needles and the ODO. I have not noticed my gauges off except the fuel tank so I just ran it below E until it sucked air just to get a feel for where E really was then took everything back apart and moved the needle about that much. Just take your time and pay attention to the needles.
I havent put it in yet but I hooked it up to power and it looked pretty sweet!!! Waiting till I have a few hours to do it!!! Im guna get dif bulbs for my a pillar gauges to match it? Have you put pics of your interior on here yet? What all lights do you have blue??
