Changed mufflers, sound same
It's supposed to be alot better from what I have heard or read before buying them The Dynomax UF Welded 17217 17". But THey sound the same as ones that were on it when it was bought, two rusted out so much you couldnet even read the imprinted letters(brand+such). Well here's a clip, but they've only been on about four days. Do you think they will immprove over time some? Cause I didn;t want to spend 200 if sound is no different! Therse Are New:

The sound is no different at all. The same pops on the decline of rpms ya know. and just not deep or anything. They are 2.25" True Duels with some 3" tips and a H pipe where the cats would be, if there were any. no cats.

Did you hear it with the mufflers off? If so, how did it sound? I used to have an 88 lincoln with the 5.0, it had the h-pipe as well, and put some flowmasters on it dumped. You could hardly even hear it! Found out it had 4 cats on it, so I removed two of them, put the flowmasters back on and couldn't believe it but there was still barely any sound. Finally I took it in told them to remove the mufflers and ran straight pipe behind the tires with 3" tips. Finally it sounded good, not annoying at all and drone wasn't bad. I didn't think it was too loud until my friend took off in it one day and it sounded mean.
Just something to think about, but not everybody likes the sound. Also, you mentioned you don't have cats at all so i'm sure the sound will be different.
Let us know what you decide to do.
