those welds are nickle rod they laugh at a drill bit. put you a face shield on, a leather jacket, gloves, and blow them out with a torch.

it could be done either way....if you torch the welds and do it at the diff....they are pressed in harder than the c's are....and you have to worry about welding cast.....

im not sure which way i would do it...both very tricky and technical....but either way im impressed....
