Next trip - end of the month to Fernley - meet up with friends to go Chuckar hunting around Paradise Valley and/or Gerlach.
People go to Ferntucky on purpose?
J/K - you'll be in my neck of the woods (sagebrush....whatever) then.

Last time I was in DV it was February as well. The weather is perfect in the winter. I'd like to see the racetrack, never made it out that direction. A G2G could be fun, at least it's closer than Vegas!
OTR- you can take a 2wd or wagon on the main roads but I wouldn't recommend it on the side trails from what I recall.
why did this turn to italic after the last quote? I can't get it to change back...

You can do the racetrack/ w 2wd if it's dry and if you don't mind 25 miles of washboard - but take a couple of spares along - it's real rocky.
Ferntucky? Whaddya mean? It's a thriving metropolis.
Will the work on Hwy.50 ever be completed?
I went thru Fallon last year on the return from Lovelock (another metropolis)
and ate at a pretty good drive-thru. Can't remember the name, though...
I don't know, all the drive-thru's here are chains.......Sonic maybe? Fernley ought to pick up some what with Lowe's and Super Walmart there now. Lovelock though, I don't know, it's pretty far out there.
I moved to Fallabama on purpose, just to be close to its diverse hub of social activity!
The Hwy 50 construction is down to the last 8 miles or so through Hazen. They're in the process of completing the second half of the bridge over the railroad tracks, the rest of the 4 lane is done, so hopefully sometime soon!
