Need some help!
hey people i just got the truck that i wanted a 1954 f100 theres only one problem it has a power steering kit on it but i dont know were its from well the steering components are all mixed up but i fixed some the only thing that i need is a 26 inch drag link but i cant find anywere so if some one can help me on finding that part that would be great.

Welcome to the board!!! You have managed to stumble into one of the friendliest groups around, chock full of knowledgable folks who will gladly answer your questions (sometimes we will even give you the right answer---of course its up to you to dtermine which one is the right one...lol)
One of the most common power steering conversions on these trucks is the 1979-85 toyota 4x4 box. If you had a picture of the steering set up we could identify it pretty easy. How and where is it mounted? Is it a failry small box mounted in the original location? if so then its probably the toyota box.
Once you get settled in here get a gallery set up. We love looking at pics

Welcome, I,m always glad to see another member from So. Cal. I can,t help with the part your looking for but just wanted to say hi and congrats on your new truck. Looks like a great truck to start with.

The truck looks like a great project!!!
Was that pic of the steering parts taken with the truck sitting on the ground or with it jacked up and the suspension hanging? The reason I ask is that it looks like the drag link is at too much of an angle. the drag link is normally fairly close to parallel with the tie rod.
Since your steering is a cross steering set up I'm guessing its not the toyota set up. On the toyota steering the pitman arm moves "for and aft" like the original set up.

Welcome aboard, nice truck! I'm one those So Cal people too. LOL... I looked at the picture you posted on the suspension. The normal draglink on a 54-56 connects to a steering arm which connects to the long rod with what you have a steering shock mounted to. That long rod is known as the tie rod. The draglink is usually connected to the steering arm and a pitman arm which connects to your steering box. It is usually on the drivers side as is the steering box and pitman arm. Your draglink looks like it goes to the passenger side???? I'd have to see some pics of the steering box or what is going on there? Might be easier to run a Toyota box with power steering and go that way. I have an extra drag link for a 56 Ford but haven't got a clue what your drag link is from? Wish I could help.

As straight as that tie rod and link is it almost looks like it could have come out of a fullsize wagoner or 4wd application. really need a few more pics to be sure. welcome to the FTE. by the way. Mark
