Question G-Tech Pro.....

HI, i bought one of those G-tech pro SS performance meters for my 86' f-250 with a 6.9 IDI, and when i try to calibrate it, it does'nt work. It just plugs in to the cigerette lighter and it reads the electrical current through system. It says i have a faint RPM signal...I don't know if anyone has tried using one of these before, but it works fine in all my other vehicles, except my diesel. I figure its just cause of the 24 volt system, but i cant seem to get it. It doesn't say anything in the manual about it cant work in a car or truck with a diesel engine.....can anyone give some tips?

Thanks

By the way if u were wondering, it also makes its measurements by the g-forces made by the vehicle....it's pretty cool.

Your electrical system is 12 volts in an 86.

Not sure what it would see in a diesel electrical system to sense RPM.
I could see picking up the spark discharge in a gasser.

This problem will probably require a call to G tech tech support.

They are wired in parallel for more cranking amps and to run the glow plugs, everything electrical in these trucks runs off of 12v.
