Got a new SD

Well, new to me anyway....

I'm upgrading from my 92 F-150 X-Cab with a built 351 and 4" lift:

to this:

05 F-350 Crew Cab 4X4, 6.0 PSD Lariat

The truck has just about every option available except the moonroof and upfitter switches

Thanks to whomever ran the Oasis report for me, and the ton of info on FTE that I've read during my search for my truck.

I just got the tags for it (man, taxes at the DMV were brutal) so I haven't got to drive it a lot, but I love it so far. Doesn't seem right that this thing at 7000 lbs moves like it does. The 6.0 absolutely blows the doors off my old gasser, which is far from stock.

Will be nice to be able to tow my Mustang to events and take the whole family in comfort and style.

Oh yeah, anybody wanna buy a real nice 92 F-150 ???

Funny, that was a major part of my selection criteria when I started looking for one (also why it took so long to find what I wanted)

1. Couldn't be white - reminds me of a "construction" truck
2. Couldn't be black - way too much surface area to keep clean

Pretty much narrowed my choices to blue (actually my first choice) or the dark red, or Gray/Silver/Stone colors.

Other criteria:

1. Had to be an 05 or 06
2. Had to be a crew cab
3. Had to be 4x4
4. Had to be the 6.0 PSD w/ auto tranny
5. Had to be a Lariat - I just like all the goodies
6. Had to have less than 60K miles
7. Price couldn't be (much) more than $30K
8. Had to be reaonably close to home
9. Had to be in excellent condition - I'm picky in case you didn't notice

Took over 6 months to find one that met all the criteria

I admire both trucks. If the F-150 is half as good as it looks, whoever buys it will also have a sharp truck. To me, that was one of the prettiest years of that series.

I had very similiar criteria too except I wanted the v8.. Took me 4 months to find mine. I gotta admit that I almost gave up, but it was worth it. I got a King Ranch, hard to find up here in New England actually got it in upstate NYC, close enough!

Gorgeous ride. I can't wait to see some pics with that bad boy hooked up to your trailer. Make sure you post them. It's one thing to see the SD's sitting pretty, but you gotta show 'em working too.

Congrats!! BTW: Make sure you post your thoughts on the 6.0 after a little while
