Fi 4.9 ?

Good morning Gentlemen, have not been on this forum in years, but it's always been a great source of info. The quick story first, I recently got my fathers 88 f-150 running again after sitting for a while, but. It's not running well and the 4,5,and 6 plug are wet with gas. Seems like the injectors are staying open, because I do have spark. I remember reading somewhere that the injectors were batch fired, but don't know the sequence. I wondering if there is a relay or a short causing this problem. Has any one ever had a similiar problem? Thanks for any help you can offer!
Scott

don't know, but in my experience, looking at the rear of the engine on top, are some small colored vac. lines, which they seem to crack over time. They might control part of that? but it sounds like those injectors are stuck open.

They are batch fired in two groups of three. Some years the front three and back three fire together, others 1,3 and 5 are together and 2,4 and 6 are together. An easy way to see if they are being told to open constantly is to unplug the injector and put a test light in its place. If it stays lit all the time you have either a short to ground on the control side of the injector or the computer is shot.

I'd lean towards the injectors being fouled. Bosch makes an overhaul kit that basicly is a new screen and o-rings.

I'd run SS test first though, just to make sure your chasing the right problem.
