seems the search engine is out of order and would like some info and advice
I amgrowing more tired of my yellow looking headlights and know some have upgraded to later ones and wonder if anyone can elaborate on what it entails
1- 02 - 04 think they are direct replacements
2- 05 - 07 think these will work with some modifications
3- 08 not sure on these
4- aftermarket, has anyone had any experience good or bad with any of these
aftermarket, just dont cut it. they are easy cuz they are direct bolt ins, but the adjusters suck. do yourself a favor and get the 05-07 headlights with some silverstar bulbs. you wont regret it.
if you are not worried about changing the looks, just upgrade to some silverstars with the stock headlights. it helps a lot.

I upgraded o silverstars quite a while back and really helped, but old lights just look bad
cleaning helped a lot but would like a better look
You can buff the "old yellow" from the headlights with some fine compound and a buffer...they'll look new again. But beware of "projector" headlights from the aftermarket, they look really cool but if you get cheap ones they won't work worth a $h1t...TRUST ME!
The high-end ricers are coming with HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights now. I put some in mine and like them very much. I put in the 8000Ks, which are bright white with a blue tint, but you can get 5000/6000Ks which are white/pure white. They're not cheap, but you shouldn't need another headlight again. They come with all the wiring you need and a separate power supply for each light. The down side is that you lose you high beams, but with these, I have yet to need them. No regrets. Ray, See my gallery for before and after pics. I went with the 02 models, they are a direct fit and the little clip that you are gonna break is avail at auto zone. Keep your Silverstars for the new housings, they fit just fine.
I just reconditioned mine about a month ago and they look great. I got a kit at Advance Auto Parts, about $20, comes in a foil pouch, has 2 different grits of fine sandpaper, polishing compound and sealer, If you use it, DO NOT GET IN A HURRY WITH THE SANDING PART! The more time spent, the better the job! Once you sand them you are going to think you have completely ruined them until you apply the liquid sealer, but patient water sanding is the key to a great job. The package said about 5 minutes per lense I think, but the total job took me about an hour and a half. Mine were in pretty rough shape. I also done my wife's Jeep Cherokee, which were green, yellow, cloudy, etc. She couldn't hardly see how to drive at night, but they look great now for $20!
Permatex also makes a kit. I think it has 3 grits:1500,2000 & 2500 plus a polishing compound, at about the same price or maybe a little higher.
As someone else mentioned you might can try a compound and a buffer but be careful with damaging other plastic parts, paint etc. If that doesn't work, you have only wasted a little time and then you could use one of the kits if you want to.
Hope this helps! p.s. you can tell I'm a penny-pincher by not opting for new light fixtures, LOL, GOOD LUCK!
If you want to go for looks, get either new set, if you want to go for better lighting, I prefer accessory lighting. I havent run silverstars in my 02, and Im sure they help, but it just cant be nearly as good as a set of well aimed acc lights. I have a set of yellowish fogs down low, pointed at the road, which do an incredible job of showing me the lines in extreme fog, and a set of driving lights (high beam only) on the bumper . I prefer to use the factory lights as fillers, to fill in the close area were my driving lights arent aimed. In situations were my acc lights arent appropriate the stock lights do just fine IMO.
You have to look closely to see the fog lights, as they are mounted on the brackets for the "lower bumper" is all i could describe it as. Hope that helps.
