4 inch clamps

Napa makes a heavy duty clamp that will fit over the 6637 air filter, the search option is down or I would of used it. Anyone have a part # from Napa that I could use. Thanks Jcab

I don't have the number but when I bought my Napa #6637 filter last week they showed the clamp to me. It is a high torque type clamp but I turned it down as I didn't think that a clamp would secure the filter to my 4" exhaust elbow.

The collar on the filter was hard and didn't seem to be flexable enough to compress and grip the pipe. Have you used the clamp in the past on other #6637 Napa filters?

I ended up useing Gorilla tape (great stuff) to snug up the fit then to seal the connection from leakage.

If you want I will get the number for you tomorrow in fact if it will compress that collar I'll buy one for myself.

Napa #

That would be great if you could get the number. I went to napa today, and all they had was a 4 inch hose clamp which I already had. The filter is hard rubber and you need a strong clamp to tighten it down right. Thanks Jcab

It's a 4.5" constant torque clamp. If memory serves the part number is CT-450

jcab:

I have the clamp. Brand name: TORCTITE #304SS

Napa number is #733-3224

This is a stainless, double bolt clamp 3" wide. It is a step-down clamp so it will put pressure on both the 4" pipe as well as the filter collar.
Each step-down area is 1 1/2" wide. There is no doubt that this is one heavy duty clamp.

The cost of the clamp was about $14.00 and change. I get a discount because I'm old, cranky and fat. (Just kidding, I'm not cranky.) I use the Jeep club discount It cost me $11.15 + Tx.

I hope this helps, now I'm going to try and install it on my filter.

jcab: DON'T BUY THAT CLAMP, IT DON'T FIT! It won't close around the filter collar. I'm on my way back to exchange it for another.
I'll let ya know.

OK jcab, here's the skinny on the clamps. Napa carrys these clamps by "Torctite" What we need is the 41/2" clamp Napa #733-5423.

Of coarse my Napa store had to order it and all of their other stores within 150 miles has it in stock. I get mine tomorrow.

Hope this helps or if you have a spare turbo clamp you can use that as well. c00n says his looks goooood!

Awesome Dude!

Let me know how they work for you, I like the idea of a heavy duty clamp instead of the hose clamps which aren't as strong. Jcab

OK dude I have it. I installed it on mine and it not only works great but looks gooood! Evan as good as the c00nmans!

Napa numberBK-705-1538 It is a 3/4" SS constant Torque clamp. Now, what I had done previously I had taken a couple of wraps around the 4" elbow so that the filter would fit a bit more snug. After I installed this clamp that filter is now tight as a frogs *** in deep water.

Hope all of this helps. Oh, and it cost $4.43

Ooops, I noticed that I forgot that part but I had already pushed the button to send, The filter didn't fit very snug on the 4" elbow so I wrapped some Gorilla tape (good stuff, puts duct tape to shame) around the end of the elbow to make it fit more snug.

Hope it all works out for you.

I used a die grinder with a cut off wheel and cut a couple slots in the filter and a hose clamp holds it fine.
