Help!!

just simple greened and clean engine, now its running like crap. it smooths out and then seems like its misfireing sort of.. and then smooths out again. its realy weird..

what wires should i check, i coverd the relays, and wires on driver side of fire wall, and ps pump, oil fill cap. alternator.. and i didnt even really use alot of water either.. so im not sure whats up?

it ran smooth when i first started it up, it then started running ruff, and then smoothed out again, i went in. ate lunch, came back out to go drive, and now it just runs just alternates between ruff and smooth idle. and it has no power when running ruf. can barly get the truck driving..

if i let it sit off for a second and then start it, it smooths out and stays good for like a minut or less . then then it just goes straight to alternating between smooth and ruff idle..

well, if you have blower, greb it and with engine off, blow all the water out, than check you VC connectors, and disconnect them blow them dry , check you main connector on the firewall, check in the valey, all the connectors, you got water somwhere, so you just going to have to find it,
or let it dry for a day or so,
good luck

how do you get those plugs off? the ones running to the valve covers... there the only ones i have not been able to get off yet. i took the truck for a drive this morning, and drove it for like 30 miles or so. and went great for like 20 of those miles, then i got floored it, it started going well, and then sputterd, and the picture of the engine light came on. i had to pull over, turn off, and then start right back up again and the engine ran fine again. so i kept going, but then there were times i floored it multiple times, and it did just fine. and then at random the light would come on and off, and the engine would studder on and off with the light.? ? im kinda wishing i didnt hose the engine down.... its ok if i spray electricle cleaner in the connectors right?. it should help..

To unplug the VC plugs, push down very firmly on the center to release the lock and disconnect the plug. The button to push has little lines sideways in the area to push on, IIRC.

well the thing is it had the fuel leak or what ever it is before, but never had a running issue. so i figure something is still wet is all i can guess.... but ya i had some sort of code reader, i was going to use it yesterday, but didnt because the engine started running normal again.

well i did the fuel bowl filter change like 3 months ago or 4. but i gues it cant hurt to check it again.

ok, i got the passenger side plug out, sprayed it with some electricl parts cleaner spray, and i found some of the wires onging into the plug, the insulations is gone and i can see bar wire now. so im wondring if thats my problem. maybe the dirt was insulating it? who knows.. i gues i can try and get some heat srink tubing around the wires? it would be tight but ill see. i get a picture of it..

sorry one or more may be fuzzy, but u can see wich wire or wires is missing insulation on them..

what would ur idea of a fix be for this? other then a new wire..

maybe get some heat shrink tubing rapped around it, melt it down?

so could this be my problem? the dirt could have kept the wires from shorting together and making the engine run fine? after i cleaned it, its now shorting together ?

Home Depot sells a liquid insulation. You clean the area to degreae it and after it is dry just brush on the liquid and let it set up.

iv got the O-rings commin in on thursday or so it says on my tracking of the part. so ill have that in when it gets here. but ya, just from my drive today i noticed more drips on the axle again, and the pipe looks like it was creating a drip when i was just idling, so its probebly drippin a little more when actually driving.
