good job..you found your skipping..you can get a new harness at a dealer but cheaper from one of our sponsors... like rbaker6336 said ..try some liquid tape for a temporary fix..use electrical grease in the plug when you plug it back in..as soon as them O-rings come in.. get them in.. in my sig below is a mod and fix's link..click on that and look up fuel bowl drain valve fix and it will tell you how to do it..good luck to ya...

EDIT: here ya go Separator Valve Rebuild

the harness, it looks like a mess to replace, is it difficult? i was thinking of making a good perminent fix on that plug, but a new harness does sound like a proper fix for that.

its so weird, because it ran good today, but would randomly cut out, like the engine wouldnt ever die, but like i could open her up and just fly down the road and other times it would cut out, but would act like its not runnin on all cylenders, so im sure its got to be that plug with the stripped wires on it.

well if you handy with a soldering iron cut the wires and cut the insulation on the harness, put pieces od heat shrink tubing on the cut wires and solder the wires together, slide tubing over the soldering points and use heat gun,
you in CT im in NY, so not that far, if you willing to drive here maybe i can repair it for you,
up to you , let me know,
good luck on you decision,

Just a thought, but have you checked the CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor)? I had problems with mine several times when driving in the rain cuz it must have gotten wet, though it ran fine when dry (most of the time). I did eventually have to replace it, but thankfully, Ford came out with a supposedly more reliable and less expensive replacement sensor.

Liquid electrical tape is supposed to have the same temperature rating as thnn wire(105degrees C.) If you already have electrical tape on it, use the liquid to cover it and act as a sealant to water proof it.

works been busy this morning, but anyways..

got the wires with some electricle tape as of now, i drove to work. truck started up fine, and drove all the way to work completly fine. so i do believe it was that wire going to the VC that was giving me trouble. i had my brother bring in some liquid electrical tape. so ill try and maybe hit it up with that. or head over to Pete's. im very thankfull he made the offer, this is my first truck. so im still learnin.

the CPS is fairly new, not a year old yet. and i do have 2 more of the $17 dollar ones incase i do need to do the job again.

again, thanks everyone for the help. i do feel my questions are stupid at times, but u guys have been great. thanks..

glad you found the problem. better now then 100 miles from home..hope that doesnt scare you from keeping things clean under the hood..a clean motor is so much better to work on and makes finding things a lot better too...in FTE there is no stupid questions we are all learning from one another..the only stupid question is the one that wasnt asked..good luck to ya..

i cant give pete any reps..i need to spread them..but it let me give you some eric..great offer
