neutral safety switch
Can someone tell me where the neutral safety switch is located on a 1978 Ford F250 4-wheel drive? Have looked on steering column cannot seem to locate it. Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you have an auto trans? Try looking on the shift linkage on the transmission. Its the only thing that will have wires on it.

yes it's an automatic. I looked on the transmission linkage and I do see wires. Cannot get good view of switch. Thanks for the information.

gray box on the side of the transmission where the shifter goes in.

In 1978 Ford MOVED the NSS from the steering coliumn to the side of the transmission.
