Have you ever bought parts from them and are they any good? I went on their website and i saw this there
"Replacement body panels are quality steel replacement parts that are Made overseas. Having been shipped half way around the world by ship and then by truck, there will most likely be a few scratches or small dents; this cannot be helped and should be expected. A small amount of repair may be required. All body panels are packaged and handled with great care. "
when i saw the made over seas part i was thinking oh man its a piece of crap from China. So does anyone happen to know where there parts are made?
I have not purchased any sheet metal from these guys but I have purchase quite a few mechanical parts and I have been very happy with them. I purchased a new front bumper which has held up nicely for several years. I replaced all my door and window seals with LMC parts. I also replaced all my body mounts. Everything has been A+ so far.
I never purchased body parts from them either. Try the sponsor sites. I don't understand why LMC wouldn't want to help sponsor FTE. Go figure. Their loss. Dennis Carpenter stuff is really nice. They always have a nice display at Carlisle swap meet in PA. Looks like good quality stuff.
I've attempted to buy parts from them on several occaisioins. I've always noticed that their prices seem to be higher than other suppliers when I did my research. When ever I've asked them tech questions, the've either not been able to give an answer, or gave the run around.
I just bought from lmc truck a few weeks ago I was satisfied with my parts, but that dosen't mean that you shouldn't buy from the sponsors, I support what there doing its just that there prices are higher and they didn't have what I needed, Im not saying that the sponcered sites don't ether, just my 2 cents. But have fun looking for what you need.
"www.dennis-carpenter.com" ......... quality matters, and it will be hard to discuss this if we dont have a site from not supporting the people who support us!!

I know that LMC is not a sponsor site, but logic has to tell you that they do all right considering the amount of presence they have on the aftermarket w/o having to fork over additional dough to advertise. I have used them and I have use several of our sponsors...I honestly believe it's all equal to fit and quality...as far as sheet metal goes, it's only as good as the bodyman doing the work, if there is poor fitting I doubt you can blame the part only. I did buy cab corners and lower door skins from LMC and had no issues. They were reasonably priced, fast shipping, and very friendly sales staff. They lined up exactly and I did not notice a difference in gauge between the OEM and the a/m metal. After the welds were grinded down, bondo'd, and primed, you can not even tell where the old metal stops and the new metal starts.
The funny thing here is I did not even know about LMC until I went to the body shop for some direction. I have have been MORE THAN PLEASED with what I have received from LMC and I would recommend them. They are higher priced than some of our sponsors on some items and lower on others. The AWESOME thing about them though is if you order over $1k in parts, SHIPPING IS FREE--INCLUDING FREIGHT SHIPPING.
I've found, and much of this can be attributed to Dennis (Mil1ion) from my rookie times here, that the extra cost from Dennis Carpenter is well worth it. A good example of this is the cab seals. I ordered one from DC and one from LMC to compare them and although they looked identical, the LMC one was much more stiff and would have required door adjustments to avoid having to slam the door. DC's allowed the door to seal up from the get go and you don't have to slam it to get it shut! I can't comment on sheetmetal parts, as I was blessed with a truck that didn't need any, but most, if not all, of LMC's "exclusive" parts can be found elsewhere as they do not manufacture anything - just takes some searching.
My $.02 is that price does matter (really it does) when you have a wife/kids/dogs/budget and you are trying to spend money on "your old trucks" so yes I do shop around and look for a good price also, that being said,,,, I have had good parts, and Quality parts, 2 yrs after replacing all the rubber and felt on my 66, the rubber is cracking,, not good, so I may fork out the extra for DC on the weather seals and window felt and such for my 77.

It has more to do with "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."
I suspect LMC won't advertise here because unfortunately they already have some users that send people there on FTE's dime.
Think if you were sponsor of FTE a site that helps people get FREE Tech info on their truck and 3 of 10 people on the site alwyas want to send users to a non-sponsor site.
I think of it this way.
A guy goes into a hardware store during its grand opening and eats a drinks
the coffee, sandwiches, donuts......puts his name down for all the prizes offered,....... then when he is done gorging himself on all the freebies ......walks across the street to the competition to buy the things he needs....for what ever reason.
Maybe LMC should create a free tech site because all they want is Your money......nothing more........and their product is the same or inferior than sponsor sites..plus some sponsor sites offer FTE users... discounts as well.
