Haven't posted in a long while. Anyway, my 1990 F250 4x4, was getting sick. So I pulled the engine to freshen it up a bit, and it was way worse off then I orignally thought. So now I ve bought a new Reman long block assy, and now putting that together. Also put in a RV Cam while I was at it. Along with a new clutch, slave cyl, engine mount's.
Yes the might as well's. But I had to do the other stuff. The clutch was worn down to the rivits, motor mount was seperated. And might as well do the slave cyl, since its the internal type, and with my luck it will leak after its all back together, then I will have to pull the tranny to do it, so might as well do it now.
I have a 91 I was thinking about doing the same thing. Let us know how you make out. Mine is a 5.0 Could you answer a few questions? What size motor? Where did you get it? What did you spend?
My motor is a 5.8. I got it from Napa auto parts. And well the price. Since I am a auto mechanic. And the shop where I work has the largest account with Napa, they give us very good deals. And even better deal when I am getting something for myself. I paid $1680 for a reman long block.
Yes for sure, probably at least 5000km. Thing is I hardly drive it, cause its not so fuel efficient. I drive a 92 Suzuki Swift as my daily driver. So I will have to buck up and drive the truck for a while. Definatly need to put some miles on it before I pull my 5000lb travel trailer.
