abs testing on a 96

Question about testing the abs system. I think I jumpered the test plug correctly black wire to black blue under the hood. But after doing this the abs light does not flash. It just stays lit. The light came on the other day for no apparent reason had driven about 30 miles and turned it off then restarted and abs came on and stays on constantly. Am I jumpering the correct pins on the test port under the hood or is it possible I have a problem with the abs module.
