i read that it doesnt hurt the engine if the spout is unpluged.because my truck runs rough no matter what i do cleaned the throttle body the egr and replace the sensor no vacuum leaks and replaced the IAC and ran the plug wires away from each other.and the idle isnt steady it up and not a lot but a little.and it runs down the run road fine need help
If you unplug the SPOUT connector, the engine will run at the base timing advance all the time. This might help with the idle slightly, but it will make the engine gutless at all points other than idle, and could cause higher than normal exhaust and engine temperatures if operated at base timing for a long enough period of time.
Tons of guys here on FTE have reported having lots of problems with platinum plugs, for some reason these trucks don't like them. Pull the plugs and check to see if they are fouled.

Motorcraft is your best bet. You can try the dealer or if you want to wait a few days it would probably be cheaper to order them from rockauto.com. I ordered mine from there and was very satisfied with my purchase, quick shipment too.
I've also heard that copper autolites work fine too.
My truck was running bosch platinums without problem either when I bought it, so it seems that it's not every truck. All I know is that I've seen plenty of guys here with brand new platinum plugs that made their trucks run awful.
