This isn't some pressing matter, just a question about shock fit. Concerns a 2000 Ranger 2WD
A while back I swapped out my generic shocks with a set of KYB Gas-Adjusts and one thing I noticed is that the front shock mounting ears BARELY fit on the mounting bolts. It was such a close fit that I question whether they'll even hold up over more than a year before slipping off the bolts.
I didn't see the factory shocks, they had been swapped out at a tire place before I saw them. Is that kind of a fit typical for this year Ranger or is there a better shock that will fit better? Personally I'm not a big fan of the KYB's, they don't ride very well in the front where Rangers need the shock to work and the design for the shock was odd with its stubby shape - didn't seem like they had a lot of travel.
I'm not sure how the front shocks fit on a '00...could you enlighten me please? I know the design on my '94 absolutely prevents the shocks from springing off the truck, even in the worst case scenario.
