Hey all,
Ive got a 06 250 Stroker FX4 Super Cab Short Bed. I tow a 12000 lb 5th wheel. I put on a 4" turbo back exhaust, Bully Dog filter and a Bully Dog 3Dog / Crazy Larry with Outlook monitor. When I accelerate even moderately (with or without the camper), it will often "hang" in 2nd (or maybe its 3rd) and then slam into the next gear. The tranny is a 5r100. When I set the Outlook back to stock, The problem seems to be better, but stock obviously doesn't lean as hard on the trans.
I used to have a Bully Dog Power Pup that I could set to run stock shifting only, but when I try that with the 3Dog, it still seems to run their "firm" shift program.
Thoughts or ideas?
One word, BULLYDOG. If you do some searching on this forum youll find these have been tearing up these trannys and motors like candy. My advise, SELL IT! put it on ebay and give matt at spartan a call. This is the only proven and safe tuner for these trucks and from what I understand, Matt it the guru on the programing on these motors. It is 100% worth it and im sure almost anyone on this forum will tell you the same. Good luck!
Id check into changing back to the stock filter too, they filter better than most aftermarkets and are good for about 500 ponies

Many of the aftermarket performance chips & tuners are almost famous for being more detrimental then beneficial in how they control the 6.0L and TorqShift. Spend some time, do some research, and look through the many, many, many threads here in the 6.0L forum and up in the more general Super Duty forum.
I have 2 customers w/ the same trucks and bully dog and i drove them both and they shift late and too soft. not good. dump it and get and SCT from spartan diesel.
