PCV SYSTEM QUESTION
know if this system is malfunctioning,theres
some thing missing that went from the exhuast
maniifold to the carb, and theres black
crud building up in that filter type thing
where the pcv hooks to on the air claener...
the engine can spontaneously over heat all of
a sudden,but if i get the revs high before it gets
to hot it cools back down and wont do that for
another week or so..smoke comes out of the oil fill
holes if i open them after driving around
any help is appreciated.

You start blowing oil out of the breathers.

That is the stove pipe for the choke...

The PCV does not hook to the air cleaner housing...
It should be hooked to a large port on the manifold,
the hose going to the air cleaner is the draw side
of the PCV system...which should be attatched to
the oil fill cap...

That is a classic symtom of a sticky T-stat...

Also known as blow by, somewhat normal, but excessive
oil smoke is an indecation that your rings are toast...
