Repairing cab mounts

I have a 1967 F-250 "highboy" that is in need of some attention regarding the cab mounts. It appears that some of the metal over the rubber mount (on the underside of the cab) need to be replaced, along with 2 of the side braces that run out to the door sill. Since I do not have a garage or own a wleder....nor do I know anyone that is good with body work....I will need to take this to a bodywork guy to have the work done. How are these jobs priced? My truck is already a "frankentruck" so I am not in need of custome repainting or anything...just need to have the work done....so what sort of prices should I expect? Would it be a good idea to install a body lift kit (just a simple 1.5" thing...to allow bigger tires) at the same time? Would that add alot of extra cost?

Well the body lift would have to be done to the entire truck, and most guys that do a body lift do them themselves. The labor on this will kill you. The welding shouldn't be too bad, and if you want to get into the fine art of welding this would be a good opportunity. The body mounts are hard to see, so no one will notice where you screwed up. Just make sure you have good enough penetration to hold the cab up.

Blue Oval Truck Parts, National Parts Depot, Dennis Carpenter, and other FTE sponsors sell patch pieces for cab mounts. I need to replace them on my '70. Good luck.
