new 2008 SD
i am taking delivery of my new 2008 SD 5.4l truck this coming week and have a question. is there any break in period i have to go thru. i want to take a trip soon after delivery and pull my travel trailer. trailer weights around 6500lb. the truck has 4.10 LS rear end with auto trans. thanks

It has also been said that you should change the rear end fluid after 500 on new gears, or have the dealer do it since your truck is under warranty 
You then should put at least another 1000 or so on those gears (and the rest of the drivetrain really...) before you want to tow a lot of weight... All vehicles have a break in period for a reason.
