I need some help with this one,my expedition is a 03 model xlt loaded with allwheel drive excelent condition, only down fall is 97,000 miles.I have had it for sell for about two months and nobody will even look at it. My friend at the ford delership said its becouse every one wants to trade in.Am I asking too much for it? it is in the classifieds on FTE
The blue book in excellent condition is $12,630. Looking at your pics you need to detail that baby some more. The lower plastic trim needs attention. And in this market, no one is paying blue book. Just my advice.
thanks for the input, yea that bottom trim is fading, just dont know if i should get it painted,or just knock some off the price when selling, but in the picts we had alot of pollien from the pine trees(you could detail it every day and it would be covered again)
with the gas situation fluctuating on a daily basis....only a few people are actually looking at our vehicles. now...try to sell mine, and it will be even harder....
my wifes grandpaw gets a new truck every year and only put 12,000 miles on the last one and sells (almost gives away)to the family, and we got the last one and now up to 5 vehicles, just too many so im going to sell one and dont care if its the exp. or my 04 f-150.cant keep the insurance up on all these trucks.and yes there is about six left on it.
it is, but premium fuel and a 28 gallon tank dont mix much. tend to get around 14 mpg highway....driving lightly. and i drive 25 miles each way to work, 5-6 days a week. thats why i bought a cheap beater!!
the fun factor has worn off for the most part though, but i know i'll never get anywhere near what i have into it money wise.
you say the fun factor has worn off but if you did sell it you would miss it,cant blame you for driving the beater. i would love to have that set up in my 150 but my wife would kill me if i started another project.
It definetely is a tough time to sell these things. BUT..., it is a GREAT time to buy.
I did both during the past two weeks: sold my 00 Expedition EB and bought an 04 EB.
Selling the 00 was a pain, but finally a guy who really wanted it showed up. Sold it for $8K, which I think was pretty good price for it (w/130K+ miles). Took me almost a year of advertising it on AutoTrader, Craigslist and elsewhere online.
Sure, I could've sold it several times already earlier if i would've sold it for $5K, but since I wasn't in a hurry, I didn't do it. All these guys were those who offered it without ever even seeing it, anyway.
Then, a week after selling, I bought the current 04 from a dealer for $14K w/TT&L included. It has under 80K miles, is fully loaded (except for navi and LLS, both of which I don't need) and is in great condition. At least around here it was a pretty good deal.
Ok thanks i will look into the craiglist, and i lowered the price to 12,000. if it dont sell at that price i may keep it! I think that is a good price for a truck i dont really want to sell.
