l6 torque
Different intake maybe or phenolic spacer wouldn't hurt!!
Late model rigs are tricky as they have the computer to worry about. There is some info on fordsix.com site. I had a '94 and all I changed was the airfilter to a K&N and noticed a little more power especially under load. This was 'tested' by going up a very steep hill before and after swaping to the K&N filter.
I would agree with Blue Beast that changing the gear ratio REALLY makes a differance. I changed the gearing in my Bronco and you would have thought I had dropped in a crate motor. We don't have any high speeds like there are down there in the lower 48 so, I put in 4.88 gears. I do have 35 inch tires.
With moderately sized tires you might look at 4.11 gears. If you have oversized 4.56 might work. There are online gearing calculators to see where you would be ratio wise.
The lower gears put you in the powerband sooner...even though the motor is putting out the same hp/torque.
