Tint in IL
someone said that window tint tickets are a moving violation?
i thought this sounded wierd and would like to get to the bottom of this before i tint my windows tomorrow
just hoping one of you guys would konw .. i know this is probably not the right place but this is where i lurk

Here's a link to windowtint.com's "tint laws by state" page. I'd start here, then pick up the phone & call the guy who'd be writing you the ticket and ask him/her about thier take on it how they enforce it.

Correct, it's a "fix it" ticket....
Sometimes you actually have to take the vehicle in or a pic of the vehicle in with the tint removed to pay the fine and get your license back.
When I got mine (pitch black front doors), I just had to pay the fine......they didn't check if I pulled it or not.

im not sure if i will get the 2 front windows done or not yet and if i do it will only be like 35% so thats not very dark anyway
but im definietly getting the back window and 2 ext. cab windows done with limo tint

well the reason i ask is that my buddy just had his windows tinted and the guy that owned the shop said it was moving violation? it sounded fishy but now i know

You can do the rear windows however you want. I have 2 layers of 5% tint on my rear doors, rear window and top 14" of my windshield.
Legal limit on the tint for the top of the windshield is 6".
I had a layer of 5% with a layer of 35% on top of my front doors before.......after 2.5 years I finally got pulled over for it. I removed it.
