I just purchased a complete 360 FE this weekend for $20. It has a blown head gasket and after tearing it apart yesterday that looks to be all that is the matter. I'll take it to the shop for a thorough check up. It is a mirror 105 block. Without digging through the archives, what is the major significance of a mirror 105 block? Is the oil filter mount for a truck engine of any significance (works better with headers, clearance, etc...)? Lastly there is a new flex plate on it. I am a manual tranny guy and never owned an automatic. I'm trying to determine what tranny Ford used in the trucks. Was it a C6 only that was found behind a 360 or was there another automatic used?

Doug, the '105' block is a beefy FE. They usually have the 3 webbed mains like a CJ block. Many of them (but not all ) have thicker than average cylinders and can be bored .080 over without fear. Oil filter adapters is a personal preferance kinda thing, use whatever you like. The flexplate was for a C6 most likely. Your std tranny's flywheel has the same pattern and will bolt right on where the flex was. DF
