Well I adjusted my timing to 10d BTDC and it solved my ideling problem however I have found the truck doesn't have as much power as before and it takes a little more cranking to get it to start.
Any help?
I know the motor is between 90-93 and its a 5.0 EFI
woaa!!.. darn... thats allot.. advancing yout timing gives you a little performance that why it doesn has as much now.. i just finish set mine at 14 * and i found it at 6*
I believe I did I found a battery looking thing with a single wire that was connected near the distributor wire thing. my Engine has been swapped and kinda hacked back together by past owners.
well i would read this article http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=71 i would set it at 12degrees advance remove the spout connector before you time it and plug it in after your finished
the more timming you have the harder it is to start, the less the easier it is to start, thats why drag cars crank several times before they start becuse they are running 20degrees timming or over, on Race fuel
I might be wrong, but I don't think you were starting and running well with 28 deg advance.
I would suggest you recheck your timing. Make sure you are actually on #1 cylinder, and make sure you are using the right marks to check it. Some engines have what looks like a timing notch on both sides of centerline. On my 300, I am using the notch on the passenger side.
After timing it with the spout disconnected, plug the spout in and check it again. This should show quite a bit of advance. If it doesn't move, you may not really be disconecting the spout.
Please let us know what you find.
Good Luck Frank
