Observations: Stock performance vs SCT vs Edge
Stock = my baseline; Boooring; 16 to 17 MPG HWY after break in; 14.5 MPG HWY initial figure
The following general comparisons were all done with the most aggressive tune/setting
Edge Juice w/Attitude = Nice improvement in acceleration; 22 MPG HWY)
ATS tunes on Xcal2 = Big improvement in acceleration; mileage dips to a best of 20 HWY
Spartan tunes Xcal2 = Another quantum leap in performance over the ATS Diesel tunes; average mileage 16 MPG city/hwy
Mileage figures should be better with the milder tunes, none of which I tried yet (except stock of course)
The Edge finally crashed, so I removed it. Everything suddenly improved. It must have been just barely limping along at the end. Boost is now much improved, as is every other related quality. The turbo fart suddenly went away, as did the frequent degass bottle puking. An email to edge warranty dept last week was unreturned a week later.
Had the latest flash done today, so I may be tuneless for a day or two untill Matt or Evan get to me with fresh tunes. Dealer tried to charge me for the flash. Even told me truck wouldn't run right with new flash if combined with my ram air box (something about more MAF sensing vs EBP sensing with new flash).
BTW-It is unimaginable that anyone on earth could drive their trucks for very long in their stock configuration! Thank you SCT and Spartan!
Other than a crash and burn of the Edge module, I've experienced no reliability issues so far...except I'm on my third set of tires...
i now run matt and evan's tunes from SPARTAN and i could not be happier. if you try to call evan tonight , you may get him, but i know he is on his way to the airport right now to pick someone up, i just got off the phone with him discussing some new hybrid files he has written for me.
