P 1071 1074 Error codes
I have a 2000 F250 6.8L V10. I started it one morning and it had a rough idle for a short time then cleared up. The check engine light came on shortly after that. The codes were P1071 P1074. The solution is to replace the rubber hose on the passenger side connecting the PCV valve to underneath the carb. The turn of the hose will have a crack in it. You have to remove the airfilter and carb cover to see it. The part # F8UZ-6762-AA. Replace the hose, reset the code and you're done. Cost $25.00
That's a helluva lot cheaper than the $500 - $800 that an average repair shop wants to hunt down the problem by changing all your sensors. 99% of the time it's the hose!
