I love the interior of my truck, but am getting the feeling that the light carpeting is going to be a problem as we head into the colder months. Anybody have strong recommendations on aftermarket floor mats or other strategies to preserve the carpeting?
I have used Weathertech in the past for my wife's minivan and been fairly satisfied...
I use Husky Liners, they are great for the snow and water because they have a pocket for the water to collect without spilling onto your carpet. And they only cost about $50 for the front two and $50 for the back mat that goes all the way across.
I use the Husky Floor Liners in the fall/winter, and Catch All carpet floor mats in the spring/summer. The Husky's work great at catching mud/snow. Be sure to clean them out every now and then though, or they will collect enough water and it will spill when you accelerate hard. During deer season when I know I will be getting in and out a lot with snowy boots I usually put paper towels or a towel in the little trough to soak up some of the water and then just ring them out/replace them once a day.
The link that harstad has provided is the only answer you need. I have used the Floorliners in my previous F-150 and currently in my wifes Tahoe and the are the best for protecting your carpets. As a matter of fact, I will be ordering some for my '08 now that they're available.
I have the Weathertech's now but when I had my '01 I bought Fox Weather Boots. If you want a heavy duty liner you want these. Dirt never came close to touching the carpet.
