I'm 90% complete with the re-build on my 390 engine and I'm stuck at the point where the water pump is installed. You see, I have upgraded my 390 to a 4bbl engine using the Edelbrock Performer manifold but the new manifold did not come with the little pressed in metal pipe for the coolant by-pass connection to the water pump. I can't remove the old pipe nipple from the stock manifold with out crushing it and the auto parts store can't get them.
Where can I get a new coolant hose by-pass nipple for the Edelbrock manifold? I can't believe this stupid little part has stopped me dead in my tracks.
I found the nipple for mine rolling around under the styrofoam. I would avoid a stainles one because of the dissimilar metals reacting and corroding. Edelbrock should send one, they look to be machined fairly tight, it pressed in pretty tight anyway.
Well I was skeptical that Edelbrock would send me another coolant by-pass tube but they came through. I received an E-mail response from Edelbrock stating that they would put one in the mail yesterday so it should arrive soon. Thanx for the help and tips.
