I have been thinking about a diesel swap in my 2003 F250 4x4 5.4l. I would convert to a 7.3l PSD. What would I need besides a complete 7.3l, diesel torque converter, and new motor mounts? As of right now it is just an idea floating around in my head. Money is no issue but at the same time I really dont need a diesel for anything except that I love diesel sound and torque.
at a minimum you would need the diesel computer...their fuel pump, the gasser fuel pumps can't generate the massive amounts of pressure diesels have. and im sure the components in engine compartment would have to be rearranged somewhat. theres probably more, someone else will probably add to the list...good luck.

To Be Honest, you would not only need a 7.3L Motor, Computer and the Whole Fuel Delivery system but all the Wiring and a New gauge cluster. I think your money and time would be better spent on buying a truck with a 7.3L in it or If your so in love with your truck and your just seeking more power, how about a Supercharger? Vortech Bosts that their blower on the 5.4L 2v 260Hp to 375HP and increase torque from 345 lb./ft. to 441 lb./ft. I Mean come on! That a hell of alot of power from a little old 5.4L. I hope in that whatever you decide you think i through before getting knee deep in something. Best of Wishes.
Thanks for all the input. I figured it would take that much work. The reason I was thinking about the swap is because I love to work on all my vehicles and going out and buying a diesel wont be fun. I think I am going to look into a supercharger.

So just buy a diesel and soup it up like I did mine, then in 19,538 miles you'll be racing it and put a rod through the block and you can swap in another diesel. It's fun. DAMNED expensive, but fun. ROFL BTW- My new 6.0L is STOCK and staying that way for at least the next two weeks!
